HOVERGEN:A Database of Homologous Vertebrate Genes

We installed Hovergen on the zisgi as test-version. We would like to
have your feedback on Hovergen and wether we should support it further.

To use Hovergen you need an account on the zisgi and X-Windows.
To access the database you have to set the following environment
variables:
> setenv acnuc /data/hovergendata
> setenv gcgacnuc /data/hovergendata
(If you plan to use hovergen regularly you can put the setenv lines in your .cshrc.user)
To start Hovergen you have to enter the one of the following command:
(Please read the instructions below)
| > hovergen | (to run the graphical interface.) |
| > query | (to search for sequences in the ACNUC database.) |
| > query_win | (to search for sequences in the ACNUC database
with a graphical interface.) |
